Terms of Service
1. All clients must be at least 18 years old or older to commission or purchase from Sheaths Bark at the time of the commission/purchase. Sheaths Bark reserves the right to ask clients/buyers for proof of age in the form of a legal and valid ID sent to us if we are concerned about age. The client's legal first and last name along with their full birthday must be visible; any remaining information may be blurred.
2. Sheaths Bark currently does not accept payment plans. All commissions or products must be paid upfront in full. Sheaths Bark will calculate and charge for shipping once the commission is finished and ready to be sent out. All invoices are done through Square.
3. Commissions or products bought online must be bought for the buyer or must be for a recipient who is at least 18 years old or older at the time of payment. Sheaths Bark will not sell to adults attempting to buy adult items for minors and will blacklist and report clients who attempt to do so.
4. The client agrees to provide the most accurate and up to date references and/or descriptions of what they want. Sheaths Bark will attempt to match those references or descriptions as best as possible. The client is encouraged to provide links to materials if they wish to match an existing fursuit or other cosplay/costume if available. Additionally, the client may opt to send clean and unused materials to Sheaths Bark if they materials on hand. If the client does not have links to these materials, is unable to provide materials, or the materials have been discontinued or are of low quality, Sheaths Bark will attempt to find a reasonable substitute/match for the client. The client agrees that new materials and/or substitutes may not be an exact match and color variations within reason are not grounds for a refund.
5. Clients may be eligible for a refund if the commission has not yet been finished. Sheaths Bark reserves the right to keep 30% of the total commission to cover materials already purchased for the commission. Please contact Sheaths Bark if you would like to request a refund. Chargebacks made with no prior communication will be disputed. Finished commissions and products bought at conventions or other in person events are not eligible for a refund, return, or exchange. Since sheaths and vulvas are meant to be worn with/around genitalia and/or adult toys, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for them as it becomes a health risk. If you have an issue with your product, please reach out as we can guide you on how to fix your issue or we may be able to help you fix it ourselves.
6. Once the product has left our possession, Sheaths Bark is no longer liable for any potential damages and/or lost packages. The client will have the decision to pay for insurance on their package and is responsible for filing any claims on lost packages.
7. Due to sheaths and vulvas being intended to be worn around/with genitalia and/or adult toys, Sheaths Bark reserves the right to refuse making repairs or adjustments. Clients may still contact Sheaths Bark to request these repairs or adjustments, but acknowledge we may decline. Should we accept any repairs or adjustments, the client must thoroughly wash and disinfect their accessory and must let it fully dry before shipping it. Please see our "Care Guide" page on our website for instructions on cleaning. The client must pay for postage both ways and may be required for any labor and materials spent on repairs and adjustments.
8. Sheaths Bark products are currently made by our head artist/maker. He may occasionally receive help from his partner or friends, but otherwise products are made entirely by him by hand. Please be aware that illness, disabilities, and other life circumstances may cause delays. Sheaths Bark will always do our best to provide communication and updates should circumstances change. All clients will be provided with a link to our Trello where we update our queue.
9. The average turnaround time is about 3-4 months. Commissions may take less time or more time depending on a variety of factors but not limited to: health, commission complexity, number of commissions, number of events, and how long it takes to receive materials. Commissions that request extra parts, details, or want size adjustments to the standard patterns may especially take extra time. Clients may request to pick up their commission if they are attending the same convention/vend that Sheaths Bark is vending at. Clients must make this request 1-2 months prior to the event, and while Sheaths Bark will try to accommodate this request, no guarantees can be made.
10. Sheaths Bark is operated out of a studio located inside a personal home. This home also houses a loving tabby cat. While pets are kept out of the studio, it is impossible to ensure that your product won't cross paths with some kitty fluff at some point. Please be aware that we own a cat if you have an allergy. Sheaths Bark is not liable for any allergic reactions that may occur if you choose to still commission us or buy from us.
11. Although some Sheaths Barks products are intended to be worn around genitals and may sometimes be used during intimate acts, they are not designed or meant to be inserted, prevent pregnancies, or prevent or reduce the risk of any sexually transmitted infections. Please do not insert any part of a Sheaths Bark product into yours or someone else's body, and practice safe sex and use the proper protections to prevent or reduce the risk of pregnancy or STIs.
